Drama is everywhere, which is why it's so important to learn how to handle it when it shows up right in front of you. If you google the definition of drama it says "an exciting, emotional, or unexpected series of events or set of circumstances." For the purpose of this book drama is a distraction, interference and/or time sucker in your life.
Your life will be much happier if drama isn't a part of it. As I look at myself, my family, and friends, I see how drama can become a major part of our lives without us even realizing it. I've also noticed how consuming and destructive it can be in our lives. Drama is like a parasite.
For example, someone tells you something about a mutual friend that isn't too flattering and maybe even a little disturbing to you. Perhaps it is something about this person's relationship with their partner. It may not be true, but you find it upsetting because it strikes a nerve with you. Now you no longer want anything to do with this person. What if what you heard wasn't true? Even if it was, is it really any of your business? A relationship has possibly been destroyed because of gossip, which is drama, and for what? Oh, what a messy web drama can weave. This is just one example of how drama can become created.
