Notă biografică

Anita K. McDaniel is an Assistant Professor of Speech Communication at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. She received her B.A. degree in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University, her M.A. in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication from the University of Houston, and her Ph.D. in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Texas at Austin. For twelve years prior to working at the University of North Carolina, she taught and conducted research in her areas of specialization at Augusta State University and her two graduate study universities. Currently, she presents papers at national communication conferences on the intertextual play between the visual and written texts represented in comic books, and publishes edited volumes and chapters in books in other areas of popular culture.
