SEQUEL TO 198 WASHINGTON STREET After the funeral I was unable to speak. I was alone with my thoughts in this new world I created. A place where only Alex and I existed. I had taken all the blame for the terrible accident that took his life. The pain and suffering I had caused myself and his family. I have joined him here in a place where no one else can reach us. Jack and Anna were heartbroken over my condition and brought me back to 198 Washington Street to hopefully, recover. However, I wanted none of it. I was happy there in my new world, alone with Alex. We would remember all the good times we had while he was alive, the dances, the picnics, the day at the beach. Yes. I could bring it all back and share these thoughts with Alex. We relived the day we toppled from his parents porch swing and laughed ourselves silly. We laughed thinking back on the day his sister caught us kissing. Oh, I was so happy now. I would sleep in his arms at night and awake to his kiss. However, Jack was sad. So sad that he was unable to bring me back to my life as it once was. He called and told my father of my "condition" and it was arranged for me to return to Glasgow. It didn't matter to me where I was. I knew that Alex and I would be together forever there in our own little world. As hard as I fought it, this was not to be. Jack wouldn't let it. I returned to Glasgow on the Columbia with Anna assisting me all the way. I have no recollection of the trip back. I just remember suddenly being in my fathers home. He and Margaret were comforting me. I stayed with Alex in our own little world until my father could take no more. He was devastated. He brought me to a quiet place out by the shore where he thought I could perhaps regain my heath. I don't know why. Didn't they realize I was happy? Why couldn't they just leave things as they were. Alex, of course was there with me. We were together for many months and then, suddenly, things changed. I was not happy with what was happening and fought as hard as I was able to stay there with Alex. But Jack had other plans for me. Plans I seemed to have no power over.
