60 Days in James is a devotional workbook. Over a period of 60 days the reader will walk through the Epistle of James and be challenged along the way. The book of James is focused on Christian life and how we are to be living in this world of trials, people who anger us and worldly temptations. James breaks free of the theological expositions of the New Testament and focuses on life as a new Christian. Written to the scattered Christians of the early church, it highlights how we are to live promoting the love of Christ. In this devotional workbook the reader is presented with Scripture and a short but detailed explanation of the text. Then there is a "Today" workbook section where the reader will be encouraged to self-examine their own life and living. The reader will be challenged to make changes, make commitments and live in a way that honors God. Each challenge ends with encouragement and focus on prayer and building a communication and relationship with Christ. It is the focus of the author of James and this devotional to encourage a more intimate relationship with Jesus. This relationship is fostered by constant inward meditation and through prayer.
