A Beginner's Guide to Intarsia Knitting: 10 simple inspiring projects with easy to follow step-by-steps

Autor Suzie Johnson
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 9 oct 2017
Intarsia is a way of knitting with different colors, in which a separate length of yarn is used for each area of color rather than different yarns being carried at the back of the work. This book explains the method in a friendly, clear and accessible way that even complete beginners will find easy to understand. Starting with a small knitted square with a simple motif, the author shows the reader how to interpret an intarsia chart and guides them steadily into larger, more inspiring projects. There are ten beautiful hand-knitted items to choose from, including pillows, toys and accessories, and suggestions for adding small, personal touches to really bring the projects to life.

Notă biografică

Suzie Johnson spent her childhood knitting, and her passion for knitting grew with her into adulthood. She set up a knitting club, which later grew into a successful knitting business known as The Wool Sanctuary. Based in Weston Super Mare where Suzie lives, The Wool Sanctuary runs a local knitting club and workshops, and sells yarns and knitting patterns for Suzie’s popular designs. She also has a website, thewoolsanctuary.com, and travels all over the UK giving workshops in hand-knitting techniques. In 2009 Suzie was featured on UK TV’s successful series Kirstie's Homemade Home, teaching the presenter, Kirstie Allsopp, how to knit. What followed was over 2000 enthusiastic emails from current knitters, ex-knitters and people wanting to be knitters, and since then The Wool Sanctuary has gone from strength to strength.
