A Besieged Church
Autor N. Gamil Dawesen Limba Engleză Paperback
There is a need to disclose the forces that have infiltrated the Church for the last 40 years ? the misinterpretations of the Vatican II documents, the rampage of liberal theologians, the incursion of feminism ? and how they affected the Church's teachings. Some supernatural events ? apparitions, visions, etc? ? that may have warned about these calamities should also be covered. The common Catholics will then be better informed, and can be wary of probable misguided influences, while keeping themselves open to the orthodox teachings for which they hunger. Knowing the problem is already half of the solution. Catholics may rally to the Church's side in these difficult times.
With the Pope's call to the Faithful Remnant, the information about our beleaguered Church should inspire the regular Catholics to desire to cooperate with the Pope's agenda ? that of re-catechizing the common faithful. Their curiosity might make them study their Faith more assiduously, and they will learn the Truth that will set them free.

Notă biografică
Religious reading materials have always interested the author, a minimal, good enough Catholic, until an inspiring event touched her.
In 1997, she had the bewildering experience, along with three other people, of receiving the gift of "hearing" from the Holy Spirit. The happening was contrary to the author's scientific training, and was difficult to assimilate initially. After the event, the four recipients, who were of different gender and age, started hearing very clearly most of the homilies, readings and talks. That event took place while they were attending a Prayer Group (The Fountain of Love and Mercy of the United Hearts of Jesus and Mary) led by Lynn Geronimo.
The author wants to show gratitude to the Lord by concentrating on the spiritual dimensions of life: attending Mass often and getting involved with religious (non-social) activities. She decided to retire early and progressed unhindered in her quest. She met quite a large number of Catholics in the process, and recognized the need of sharing her knowledge of the Church.
She now lives in the outskirts of Montreal with her retired husband. Their two grown children are both married with their own families.
