Carol Christmas Joy, CJ, lives up to her name. Her grandfather built the JOY Neighborhood in 1945 to create a community of kindness and celebrate the holidays with the JOY Extravaganza, one of the most anticipated events in Tucson, Arizona.

Karol Kleinz, newly retired New York attorney, must make a trip she dreads: a visit to Tucson so she can finally sell her grandmother's house in the JOY neighborhood. Although she inherited the house five years before when "Nana" Hope passed, she's never found time to deal with it, or the emotions that surfaced any time she thought of her favorite relative. She'd spent summers with Nana and shared her very first kiss--with CJ Joy.

Karol arrives in Tucson just as the final preparations for the JOY Extravaganza are underway. She's determined to sell the house and get going to Boca Raton, despite her growing attraction to CJ and the extraordinary holiday spirit that overtakes her, something she hasn't experienced in a long time.
