This volume is a slightly revised edition of "A Christian Heroine of India," the alteration in the title having been made at the suggestion of the subject of the biography. It is believed that a widening number will find pleasure in becoming acquainted with the KING'S Daughter to whose acts of holy service and their fruitful results these pages are devoted. The narrative necessarily touches momentous problems affecting Christian work and national life in India. In this connection, not a few readers will find surprises. I hope that my twenty years' knowledge of matters Indian will help others to view them in their proper perspective, to the furtherance of the Kingdom of Goo and the highest welfare of India's people.
