Notă biografică

Jim Toomey was born and raised in Alexandria, Va. Following tradition in his family, he studied mechanical engineering at Duke University. Three years into his first engineering job, he left to become a political cartoonist. After working for two separate papers in that capacity for several years, he longed to create a syndicated cartoon strip. Jim launched Sherman's Lagoon in 1991 and was picked up for syndication later that same year. He keeps in touch with his marine pals as a surfer, scuba diver, and sailor. He lives in Maryland with his wife and daughter.
