Ceesay steered his way through turbulent seas of inept immigration laws and poverty, which left him destitute for twelve years. The quest took him through to America, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. Ceesay first trained as a Nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Bathurst, now Edward Small s Teaching Hospital, and after many years of hard work he finally earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and returned to the Gambia in 1993 to set the ball rolling in the fulfillment of his dream of providing medical aid and service to villagers. The impact on his personal life and those of his family is phenomenal.

His entire youthful life was caught in the struggle to get this dream into fruition. He had many lonely nights missing his lovely children and wife but he and family agreed it was a cause worth the pain for Gambia. However he knew that cause he was after will in due course bring much needed medical aid and service to villagers. He endured the painful path you are about to visit in these pages. His steely will along with the help of numerous kind and generous people made it possible to catch a dream of providing medical aid to his people in Gambia. I write to raise funds to build Manding Medical Centre s General Hospital at Njawara.
