A Dreaming Child

en Paperback
These are the chronicles of an African story told by one of our own. It vehemently shows the journey of a young man who has fought hard to get off the shackles of their nations dark past and not only make his life better but also better the lives of those around him. As you journey with Gakire you realise that healing is a continuous process and that Rwanda has a lot to do in terms of reconciling its people with the 1994 genocide. We realize that the genocide was based on tribalism the Hutu pit against the Tutsi. The Tutsi a smaller community is a victim of bad leadership. We see that bad leadership can cause pain and incur wounds in a community. This book shows the journey of a people with hope that after so much pain and suffering, they have seen a new dawn. It shows us a group of people that have accepted that they lost their people, their loved ones, their land and those are things they may never get back but they have chosen to look beyond this and soldier on. They have chosen to see the brighter side and instead of sowing bitterness and plotting revenge, they have taken the higher road and they are rebuilding their lives together. The youth have taken the mantle up from their older generation and the likes of Gakire have decided to lead their fellow young people not only within his Tutsi family but all over Rwanda to see things positively for me this is a story of hope. It's a new dawn for the Tutsi, a fresh beginning and a seed of hope planted in the lives of this people and where there is hope there is a future.
