J. Hanno Deiler was the greatest authority on the history and genealogy of the German settlement of Louisiana, particularly along that region of the Mississippi River west of New Orleans known as the German Coast. This book describes in essay form the founding and founders of some thirty German churches in Louisiana, and it names every German church minister through to the time of original publication.
