en Limba Engleză Paperback – 21 sep 2015
This is a fictional story that is partially inspired by real life events. The novel highlights the triumphs and failures one woman, Deloris Adams, faced. She was born in the city of Kingston, Jamaica, and she showed an amazing tenacity and fortitude amidst life's challenges. Obstacles were never a deterrent for her, and she became a lioness when it came to defending her home and children. Everyone who came in contact with her loved and revered her, and she lived an honorable life despite all the hardships that marked her journey. After her death, her legacy greatly impacted the life of her daughter, Janet Wilson, to the extent that she felt compelled to take up the baton and move on. Determined not to disappoint her mother, she found whatever it took to succeed in order to leave an indelible mark on this world. Janet's quest was to attain that mission and ensure that the torch continued to burn in honor of her mother, Deloris Wilson, nee Matthews. This book also depicts some of the struggles a number of Jamaican immigrants encounter as they pursue their dreams in America.
