A Letter to My Son

Tom, a retired attorney, has exchanged his high-powered, faster-paced Boston life for one of gentle, quiet, and peaceful reflection in Maine. His daily routine and habits, while dull and uninspiring, comfort him And yet, he feels as though his life does not have meaning to anyone else. This fact is oddly comforting to him. Or is it?

Forcing away memories of great pain, regrettable actions, and missed opportunities, while longing for a life do-over, Tom takes long walks with his beloved dog to soothe his soul. It is on one such walk that Tom happens upon a young man who is uniquely reflective, and appreciative of the time he and Tom spend together. Through his everyday interactions with William, as well as a great adventure or two, Tom gets another chance at life lived to the full. William's son-like care helps Tom work out the kinks of his life, and unearths the peace for which he has yearned, for so long.
