Notă biografică
Dinah's childhood was spent in the vicinity of Bristol Docks where she experienced the war as blitzkrieg. She began work in a government office in the Autumn of 1946. One day in Spring she "escaped" from the office never to return. For the whole of that summer she crewed a sailing boat out of Poole moving by stages around Lands End and up the Welsh coast, across the Irish Sea to Dublin and eventually back up the Bristol Channel to home. A deep passion for natural surroundings shines through in her poetry. Now in her eighties she is still very active and is blessed with eight grandchildren and her wide acquaintance includes many dear friends. A life well lived indeed!
Recenzii
"Dinah Read's mind-numbing knowledge and fluent use of the beautiful English language are essential companions for the serious Scrabble Player! Her hawk like observations of life, as we know it, are translated into breathtakingly beautiful words which just jump off the page and grab your attention." Adrian Jay Former BBC Presenter/Producer "Spending time with Dinah's poetry is like spending time with Dinah herself: thoughtful and lively, rewarding and challenging, her poems capture 'a life well lived' and joyously shared - an experience you don't want to end. Full of colour and emotion, the vivid imagery gives life to Dinah's diverse interests and passions, engaging the senses and bringing you back at regular intervals. Like Dinah, the poems have become old friends with whom time spent is always a pleasure." Julie Dexter Editor of Five Arches magazine (Radstock Museum)
