JA Ehrlich wrote her first book in 2010, an autobiography, outlining her experiences of domestic violence and the way society misunderstands and mismanages victims. "A Lioness from Judea Roars - A Lioness from Judea Cries" was written for cathartic reasons, and then she was encouraged to publish it. The author has never promoted this book as she didn't want to dwell in the past. In her own words: "I write this book as a reflection of my experience, it is not in sequential order as that task is too daunting for me. Rather in topic areas, so feel free to read what you is relevant to your thinking and needs. I write in hope that other victims know they are not alone and feel isolated. Plus, in hope, that those lucky enough not to have experienced the hazards of the domestic violence gain insight. I give my family history as to explain the inter-generational nature of domestic violence. The man I married was a reflection of my violent mother. He felt familiar. My benchmarks for 'acceptable behavior' were based on what I had grown up with. These were low compared to what I now understand the norm is or should be." A heart breaking compelling read.
