Moving saga of hard work and bad luck in war time England. Gloria moves with her husband Joe and their young son to London during WWII, but when he is injured during a fire, they move to Ireland to be with his family. But young American Gloria can't settle to life in the country; she starts working on an American airbase to do her bit, but is that all she's doing?
