A Mouthful of Dust is Douglas Savage’s seventh novel, perhaps his most experimental and ambitious. His novel The Court Martial of Robert E. Lee was acclaimed for its intimate portrait of Robert E. Lee and the general’s family following the blood bath at Gettysburg. It was a main selection of the History Book Club and an alternate main selection of the Book of the Month Club. Savage is a graduate of Ohio’s College of Wooster and the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University. His nonfiction publications include seven books on the American Civil War.
