Chiu Ling-yeong, Ph.D. (1968) in Chinese Intellectual History, University of Sydney, is Emeritus Professor at the Department of Chinese, The University of Hong Kong. He is author of over ten books, including Prince Zhu Quan and his Gengxin Yuce (with Ho Peng Yoke, 1984) and Epigraphical Materials on Ming Eunuchs (明代宦官碑傳錄) 1997.
Donatella Guida, Ph.D. (1997) in Chinese History, Università di Napoli “L’Orientale”, is Researcher at the Department of Asian Studies of the same University and Deputy Editor of the journal Ming Qing yanjiu. She has published several essays on Southeast Asia as seen in Chinese late imperial sources, and is currently working on a translation of the novel Jinghua yuan.
