A Penny for My Thoughts
Autor E. D. Lewisen Limba Engleză Paperback
The story narrates from the eyes of Tarz Williams, aka, Reverend, a 31-year-old Black Man. Using his former military training, and fueled by his rebellious nature, Reverend, along with his mentally unstable and unpredictable partner in crime, Curtis, became armed robbers.
Ever since he was a child, Reverend has been having dreams of a mysterious woman. He frequently hears a subconscious voice telling him to protect this woman, which was a problem for Reverend, since he did not have any favorable feelings toward White Women.
After his crime partner, Curtis, kidnaps a woman during a robbery gone wrong, Reverend soon realizes that this is the woman that has been in his dreams throughout his life.
Undercover Detective Brittney Starlite, aka Penny, was every man's desires, except Reverend. His prejudices towards White Men would not allow him to fully show any desire for her, that is, until the right circumstances forced him to pay her attention.
Guided by a subconscious voice telling him to save the woman, Reverend has to figure out a way to save the Penny from his sadistic crime partner. As an opportunity arises, Reverend takes the woman with him, against his partner's instructions. This action by Reverend caused the raft of his very mentally unstable crime partner, Curtis, who would stop at nothing to get his revenge.
The scene is mostly in Northern Washington State, deep in the Glacier Peak Wilderness where a vast portion of the story transpires.
With a sadistic friend, Penny's detective fiance, Earl Stewart, and the entire future word government trying to find them, Reverend must pull out all his skills and military training to avoid being capture. Many twist and surprises await Reverend and Penny, as they discover that their unexplainable and uncontrollable sexual connection, arises from the fact that they have been engineered to be together... long before they were born."
