E .Basil Jackson, MD, ThD, PhD, DSc, DLitt, is a Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry, Medicine and Law. He was born and raised in Ireland and received his preliminary education there. Dr. Jackson is a respected academic with multiple doctorates from major universities. As such, he has made significant impact in the field of integration of religion and society. A well-traveled man, skilled in several languages, Jackson has ministered to both the physical and spiritual needs of needy people around the globe. Dr. Jackson studied at the Queen's University of Belfast Medical School and shortly after graduation was appointed to a fellowship in psychiatry at the Menninger School of Psychiatry in Topeka, Kansas. After completion of training in Adult Psychiatry he entered the child psychiatry program at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. Shortly after completing training as a pediatric psychiatrist, he was appointed Director of Graduate Psychiatric Education at Marquette University School of Medicine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jackson has been certified in Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry and completed training and certification as a psychoanalyst and also as an addictionologist. He has practiced these disciplines all of his professional life. Dr. Jackson has also earned graduate degrees in theology and in law and is a member of the Bar of the State of Wisconsin. Presently he continues to consult in the field of law and psychiatry, but his principal interest lies in the integration of faith and society.
