God's word contains the specific things that He wants us to know that we might be fully equipped to live a life that pleases Him. In order to live a victorious life we must understand that everything contained in the Bible is vital for our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The enemy is aware that what we don't know can be used against us to defeat us if we are not careful. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Hosea 4:6a KJV God wants us to know and apply the wonderful plans that He has for us, that we might be fully equipped to fulfill His will on earth. In order for us to do that we must be continual students of the word of God. 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV instructs us to; "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." There are many distractions that come to hinder our study time and inhibit our walk with Christ. That's why restoring the lost art of Scripture memorization is imperative and crucial for us in the times in which we live. There are situations in which you can't always grab a bible. You must have the word of God hidden in your heart. David said in Psalms 119:11 KJV; "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." In challenging circumstances, you will be able to recall the word of God to your mind if you have them his in your heart. God's word must be a vital part of your inner most being.
