Recenzii

"Packed in the pages of this book is a lot of valuable information for librarians who do in-service programs for their teaching staff. The authors provide readers with step-by-step directions for putting on workshops. The accompanying CD-ROM has all the forms, lists of resources, and a PowerPoint presentation for each topic discussed. It covers topics that are very relevant to all of us. The first chapter discusses workshops in general and what needs to be done to put on one successfully. The following chapters deal with copyright issues for educators, plagiarism, digital cameras in the classroom, designing classroom Web pages, designing webquests, using virtual fields trips, and creating electronic portfolios. Each workshop includes background information: planning, length, materials, activities, preparations, and getting participants; conducting the workshop; evaluation; final tips; follow-up activities; references; and selected resources. This book has just about all that is needed to conduct high quality and useful workshops. I am working with staff concerning plagiarism. This has everything I need to present right at my fingertips. It would be especially useful for new librarians who have no idea about how to start training. In this age when we are expected to be leaders, it will provide what we need and save us time. Highly Recommended."
