In the past three decades, the legal process has been increasingly influenced and determined by globalization. From the outset, American law and American legal culture have had an important and decisive influence on this process of internationalization. Until now, the effects of the increasingly globalized legal process on the situation and activity of international lawyers have not been observed, examined, nor described. The 20 essays in this book have been written and partially published between 1998 and 2008 by Professor Jens Drolshammer. These essays deal with primary experiences of the author as senior partner of a large commercial law firm, as an academic teacher in courses and seminars, as a planner of international studies programs, as a consultant to law firms, and as a legal dispute mentor of multinational enterprises. The book - a bilingual text with six essays in English and fourteen essays in German - sheds more light on these globalization issues because of their importance way beyond the legal process.
