Abstract: This replete textbook is a sequel to the author's SCENIC ICONS OF THE SOUTHWEST: A Literary Travelogue of National Parks, National Monuments, State Parks, and Archaeological Ruins. Notably, key subject matter mentioned throughout the SCENIC ICONS text is presented in more detail in this sequel. For example, tectonic plates, archeology, geologic lexicon, the Colorado Plateau Province, popular tourists destinations in the Southwest such as Jerome, Sedona, and Taos, slot canyons and hiking trails throughout the Colorado Plateau, and numerous other topics. There are also additional national parks and national monuments featured in this sequel, which are located south of the Colorado Plateau Province (i.e., Saguaro NP, Bears Ears NM, and Chiricahua NM). Other incidental topics include the Durango & Silverton Railroad excursion, a history of Route 66, Old Tucson Movie Studio, an exposition on dinosaurs, Arizona's Kitt Peak Observatory and New Mexico's the Very Large Array, among other featured places and attractions.
