Prayer refers to the multifaceted communication of believers with the Lord. God has limited himself to the holy, believing, persevering prayer of His people. Prayer is the necessary link to receiving God's blessings and power and to receiving the fulfillment of His promises. "And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word God with boldness." The robin said to the sparrow, "I should really like to know why these anxious human beings rush about and worry so?" The sparrow replied, "Friend, I think that it must be that they have no Heavenly Father. as you and I have." I was one of those anxious human beings until I discovered after much struggling and defeat that I had a Heavenly Father who cares about me, and all I had to do was pray and believe his word, and all my needs would be met.
