Achim Vogel Muranyi certainly knows horror when he sees it. His objects do raise certain questions about our real missions and he seems to use his own cadences because he understands it better that way. Maybe arcane rituals of an ancient order are concealed, but cracking the code only deepens the mystery. Interacting with his art makes me feel both like a helpless witness and an enthusiastic perpetrator (whether out of tribal loyalty or a sack of gold coins or another kind of pathology or an alluring combination of ignorant cultural biases and fears, or something else altogether, I do not know).
