ACTS OF CONTRITION is the story of a family's battle with the truth of the past, and the sometimes painful impact of the past upon the present. The story unfolds over a period of more than forty years and illustrates our ability to offer love, compassion and forgiveness to one another in spite of our own heartache and disappointment. Caroline and Robert had a happy life and raise a family together as husband and wife. After Robert's death, Caroline stumbles upon hidden details of Robert's past and is forced to deal with not only the loss of Robert in her daily life, but the loss of Robert as the man she perceived him to be for so many years. It is an emotional journey which encompasses forgiveness --- not only personally but spiritually. Was their marriage a farce? Is it possible to find true love more than once in a lifetime?
