In Addicted to Worry: My Life with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Swain is forthright regarding the negative, as well as positive, impact of anxiety on his life. After his brother died from an aggressive form of cancer Swain hit "rock bottom" partly due to his own actions along with an unhealthy dose of severe anxiety.
