Descriere
Providing a complete foundation to comprehend the physics of the microworld, this two-volume set develops the models, theoretical framework, and mathematical tools to understand current experiments and make predictions for future experiments. The set brings together a vast array of topics in modern particle physics and distills the material in a rigorous yet accessible manner. All intermediate mathematical steps are derived and numerous application examples help readers gain a thorough, working knowledge of the subject. Each book contains extensive references that offer a comprehensive perspective on the literature and historical development of particle physics.
