Join the eight Pavement People, ranging in age of 19-45, during their adventures across country. The time period is 2084 where SubJets are normal, but their 1969 VW "Love Child" bus is considered abnormal. In their attempt to scale a mile high building in Chapter 1, terminally ill Bricks finds respite with a new girlfriend in watching a long gone major sporting event in virtual reality. Curb turns to a new career as a SubJet driver and he comes in handy when the rest of the gang is pursued by the Men In Black. The gang cops a ride on a mile long ship and runs into a gang of thieves that resemble the seven deadly sins. After they clash they accidentally save the ship from disaster. Then the gang disappears before the law comes after them. At the Cliff Dwelling, Block blindly meets an old friend. Macadam meets high government officials and learns more than he knew about outer space. Brick meets a doctor and gets a potential cure his terminal disease. The rest of the gang participates in entertainment for the whole audience on stage. All of them meet the president and see a space event before the evening is closed with a Lunar Eclipse. Then the gang cuts for Mardi Gras and a number of jobs await them there in New Orleans. Asphalt takes the stage again, but not as a usual runway model. Alley is welcomed into the middle of Mardi Gras in a better way than she had expected and ends up riding as queen of a parade float. Block ends up pulling a heard of well built, but not well dressed, females down a street during Mardi Gras day. Macadam meets a new girlfriend and an unfriendly horse. All of the gang meet new characters to come back to next year and then head for Nashville. In Music City, Alley is again greeted with high offers because of her elbow rubbing with the president and gets a song written to her. Block and Macadam try to steal another song and end up sharing it on the Grand Ol Opry stage. With it being Music City, even Street and Sidewalk stumble on a groggy song that turns out to be the best of all. Then the gang heads back to their home in Chicago thinking of new adventures for their next trip.
