Paul Spickard is coeditor of Racial Thinking in the United States: Uncompleted Independence and author of Mixed Blood: Intermarriage and Ethnic Identity in Twentieth-Century America. Susan Ditto is associate editor of Mississippi Women: Their Histories, Their Lives.
