Africa: International Government & Politics Series

Autor Edward Bever
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 17 oct 1996 – vârsta până la 17 ani
The vast continent of Africa is a land of enormous diversity. Bever explores the history of Africa from the origin of one of the oldest civilizations in the world to the present-day challenges of race relations, politics, and economic development. The book covers many of the forces that have shaped this continent, such as the influence of Islam, the consequences of European rule, and the political contributions of native African peoples. Africa's independence from European colonial rule is also discussed, as are the remarkable events leading to the end of Apartheid.

Recenzii

[B]ever's work is sound enough to serve as a reasonably priced information source.
The sweeping but concise review of African History makes this book a basic text as well as a quick reference book. Students are likely to want to borrow it for use outside the library. At such a reasonable price, some libraries may want a copy for reference and a second copy to circulate.
