A native of Harrisburg and member of one of the area's oldest families, John Weldon Scott is on the board of the Historic Harrisburg Association and the African American Museum of Harrisburg. Eric Ledell Smith, historian for the Pennsylvania State Museum, is a member of various organizations, including the Pennsylvania Historical Association and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
