All the authors, living and working in Denmark, Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique and South Africa, are researchers and activists.They theorise from their experiences as persons who are based in, or have worked in Africa, highlighting the dilemmas and conflicts they face as academics and researchers on one hand, and dependence on donor funding on the other.
