This book describes the Allied campaign in southern Spain in 1811. Marshal William Carr Beresford commanded the Anglo-Portuguese army and led the Allied army at the battle of Albuera. His forces twice tried to retake the fortress of Badajoz. This is the story of a difficult and costly campaign for the Allied army.
