SUMMARY. Ethnographic field study in the village of Khaalapur, India provides a description of Rajput alcohol consumption-the types of drinkers, the types of alcohol consumed, the various contexts in which alcohol is imbibed and the cultural motivations underlying different patterns of alcohol consumption.
