In 1968, a year after the Detroit riots, Patrolman Jake Bush resigned to keep a promise to provide a safer and better life for his wife and four children. In 1971 he tragically lost his family. That's when he chose to return to the one love that still burned within-wearing a badge in the city where he'd spent seven self-rewarding years.
