Peter Augustine Lawler is Dana Professor of Government at Berry College. He is editor of the acclaimed scholarly quarterly Perspectives in Political Science, served on President Bush’s Council of Bioethics, and was a recipient of the Weaver Prize in Scholarly Letters.
