This fictional collection is in Medieval and Renaissance settings worldwide, and is written from the poetic perspectives of both the fantasist and the realist. It strives to remain true to historical fact, while acknowledging that oftentimes dreams, mystery and the extraordinary, which also comprise the earthly journeys of those who lived that history, are best found in stories, tales and poems. They take place during a time when wonderment and the fanciful still held sway in the minds and hearts of people; when what dwelt in the wood beyond the castle and the village was regarded with supernatural beliefs as commonplace as those dictated by Church and State; and, finally, a time when humankind was searching for an individuality found only within themselves in the abode of spirit.
