Notă biografică
Philip Richardson is a retired Norfolk farmer with an interest in the future of food and farming, and how farming worldwide may have to change over the first half of the twenty first century in response to climate change and other massive global challenges. He combines his practical experience as a farmer and the knowledge gained through extensive world travel with summaries of recent academic studies to highlight problems and potential solutions. Having spent much of his working life combining farming with agricultural 'politics' he is able to comment on the hard decisions world leaders must take to address change quickly enough and on an unprecedented scale. Following his retirement from active business, Philip studied for a Masters degree in International Development and Climate Change. Combining his knowledge of agricultural research and technology, following many years as Chair of a farmer owned research centre, with lengthy practical experience addressing some of the environmental issues associated with modern farming practice in the UK, he has written a book which should appeal to non-academic readers and decision makers, but which also points to appropriate sources of information for those who wish to examine particular subjects in more depth.
