With her help, along with the knowledge of an old friend, he learned he could turn from the path of evil and destruction. He worked to make that turn toward good, and spent his many lifetimes just waiting to hear Elizabeth's spirit call to him. This story tells of his adventure when he heeds her call from a new country called America. And at a time when the Civil War has ended, and the expansion to the west was in full swing. Although, by the time he found her, as sometimes was the case, she was already happily married and had a family. He soon learns too, that she and her family are about to head west to Texas. His heart was heavy, but he soon sensed her call brought him across the sea for a different reason, and it was up to him to find out what the reason was. But to just be close to the woman that held his true love's spirit, he had to join up with the wagon train that was going to take her west. In doing so he forms an unlikely trio with two women who have lost their husbands in the war, and each are facing their own life struggles. In the beginning he feels abandoned by Elizabeth, but in the end he realizes her spirit was with him all the way.
