Notă biografică

Raymond A. Gensinger, Jr., MD, CPHIMS, FHIMSS and diplomate of Clinical Informatics is the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for Fairview Health Services, an integrated delivery network in Minnesota. As CMIO, Dr. Gensinger is responsible for Fairview s clinical information technology transformation strategy. He has held similar roles at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He is also a general internist and holds appointments as an assistant professor of internal medicine, affiliate faculty of the School of Nursing, and faculty of the Institute for Health Informatics at the University of Minnesota. At Fairview, Dr. Gensinger chairs the Institutional Informatics Steering Committee, as well as provides oversight for all other clinical information acquisitions and decisions. He is a past chair of the Minnesota Epic Users Group, director for HIE-Bridge, the Minnesota health information exchange and serves on the Minnesota e-Health Initiative Advisory Committee. He is a past president of the Minnesota chapter of HIMSS and served as a director of HIMSS from 2004 to 2007. Dr. Gensinger has written or presented on more than 50 healthcare information systems-related topics. He is the editor of Introduction to Healthcare Information Enabling Technologies and received a Healthcare Informatics Innovator Award from Modern Healthcare magazine in September 2006.
