Stephanie McCann, MA,(Tacoma/WA), is a medical and scientific illustrator with 30 years of experience. She specializes in work that depicts the amazing beauty of the anatomy of the human body in both traditional and digital media. Before retiring, she was chief of the Medical Illustration Department at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco and instructor of Biological Illustration and Digital Drawing at Santa Barbara City College. Ms. McCann holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MA in Medical and Biological Illustration from The Johns Hopkins University.
Joanne Tillotson, PhD (Lansing/M, is associate professor emerita at Purchase College, State University of New York, where she taught undergraduate biology. She received the Pedagogy Award for innovative use of technology and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Since retirement, she has contributed to curriculum revisions for the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University. Dr. Tillotson received her BS degree in biology from the University of Dubuque and her PhD in biochemistry from Michigan State University.
