Each year, the European Court of Human Rights makes multiple judgments and a higher number of decisions, thus fueling its already impressive case law. It was difficult for someone outside the court to determine which cases marked a turning point in dealing with new issues. As a result of the Court's work, increasing attention is being paid to identifying these cases and disseminating them in a convenient and accessible format.The purpose of this new series of case law, available in French and English, is to respond to this need by focusing on the most important cases that are dealt with each year by the court. These are selected by the court's legal advisers according to their jurisprudential interest. In addition to the cases selected for filing in the collection of judgments and decisions of the court, this corpus contains cases which raise questions of general interest, raise new principles, or develop or clarify the case law.
