This book is designed to introduce leisure and other service providers to behaviour analysis and to assist them in developing and strengthening their skills in applying associated techniques. The text contains five sections with 21 associated chapters. The first section is devoted to examining and assessing behaviours and details ways to describe, observe, and measure behaviours. The second section includes ways to influence behaviours by accelerating or decelerating behaviours. In the third section, strategies are identified to help service providers teach behaviours that facilitate leisure involvement. In the fourth section, details are provided on promoting discrimination and generalisation of behaviours. In the final section, readers are encouraged to be consistent and informed in their application of behaviour analysis procedures. The book is intended to help improve the ability of service providers to interact with people in a helpful and respectful manner and create contexts that encourage leisure engagement.
