Applications in Arts Biomechanics

Editat de Gongbing Shan, Peter Visentin
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 iun 2013
This book contains ten chapters covering music, dance, and the visual and media arts. It is organised in four parts: original research in each of the above plus a review article section. Music research covers a range of topics, from investigations correlating musical and motor development in children to a newly proposed methodology for the purpose of revealing relationships between gross and fine motor control during music performance. Dance articles examine the biomechanics of dancing and identify new ways of determining kinematic and kinetic factors that minimise technological interventions. Art and media chapters discuss in general the influence of technology on creation in the visual and media arts and also document a concrete example of one such application. Collectively, the Editors hope, these articles will encourage discussion and debate about the future of multidisciplinary research that explores the seemingly divergent disciplinary cultures of the arts and the sciences. Most importantly we hope that it will inspire new collaborations in Arts Biomechanics research, ones that aim toward transdisciplinary significance.
