Notă biografică
\LULU DELACRE is the illustrator of many award-winning childrens books, several of which she also wrote or compiled. Delacre is a two-time winner of a Pura Belpr Illustrator Award Honor. She was also honored in 1998 as Maryland Woman in the Arts, and was a juror for the 2003 National Books Awards. A native of Puerto Rico, Delacre lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with her husband and their daughter. CANTAR, LATIN AMERICAN MUSIC records music that shares the folklore of Latin America and celebrates the diversity and richness of Latin American music. Cantar also performs some of its original compositions, created in several Latin American styles such as salsa, plena, candombe, and malambo. CECILIA ESQUIVEL, a native of Argentina, performs music from Latin America for young audiences and families in schools, libraries, festivals, and other community venues. She also teaches workshops and residencies, performs both as a soloist and with ensembles, and does studio work as a singer and recording producer. PATRICIA VERGARA, of Brazilian and Bolivian ancestry, has taught privately and at schools in Brazil and France. She has played with a number of well-known Brazilian recording artists with whom she toured extensively throughout Brazil and Europe. From 1990 to 1997 she lived in the Boston area, where she performed with several local groups ranging in style from Latin to reggae to jazz. Patricia also appears in a number of recordings as a player and producer.
