"Artchives - Calligraphy and Typography" is a collection of volumes on the subjects its title suggests, but with no exact periodicity of publication (this first issue has been published September 19 2014). Its number of pages may greatly vary (and so its price) from a hundred of pages to a maximum of 500 depending on the richness of the theme.
About the theme of this issue. Jan Van de Velde the Elder, born in Antwerp in 1568, deceased in Haarlem in 1623, was a Dutch master writer and writing teacher. He is today regarded as one of the greatest calligraphers ever.
He was an exceptionally prolific master writer and he authored several books on European calligraphy (in Dutch and French languages), including the following entirely presented in this issue in facsimile: "Deliciae variarum, insigniumque scriptuarum," with plates engraved by Gerard (aka Gerrit, or Gerardus) Gauw, printed in Rotterdam in 1605."
