Artful Leadership – Managing Stakeholder Problems in Nonprofit Arts Organizations

Autor Mary Tschirhart
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 21 feb 1997
Nonprofit organizations sometimes face problems with stakeholders, and the organization's manager must then decide how to respond. In this study, Mary Tschirhart addresses three questions: What types of problem do managers experience with their organizational stakeholders? What are their responses to these problems? What governs the use of different responses? Examples are based on interviews with managers of 24 nonprofit arts organizations, which yielded information on three types of problems--involving organizational legitimacy, stakeholder legitimacy, and efficiency. Along with detailed discussions of these problems, the author gives practical advice on addressing complaints.
